Color Club Uptown Girl + OPI Rent

Uptown Girl was actually one of my first Color Club polishes and it is still one of my favorites! I have a thing for dusty purples.

Two layers of Color Club Uptown Girl

With one layer of OPI Rent from the Broadway Collection.
This is a sheer shimmer polish. It's a really pretty green and purple duochrome polish. I have noticed that there are a couple versions of this polish. Some are lighter in color, almost pale and mine is more pink.
It is a really nice topper for any polish color.

This is a picture I have of two bottles of Rent side by side. You can see that they are a bit different from each other. But both of them are gorgeous IMO.

Phoenix's Frankens!

My daughter wanted to make some frankens tonight. We decided we would try to make a red one and name it Phoenix after her. The first try we had some issues and some of the glitter we bought and used seems to have melted into the polish and turned the color from red to a dark purple. I actually quite like it though! We dubbed it Purple People Eater.

The successful making of Phoenix turned out to be a pretty red (somewhat magenta) with lots of pretty glitter.
Phoenix working on the first try of "Phoenix" now "Purple People Eater".
BTW she has this thing about giving me a sweet smile. She always gives me a crazy look when taking pictures lol
The finished polishes.

Purple People Eater (messy swatches and on my nails)

Phoenix (on Phoenix's nails)

Oranges and Grapefruits by Sally Hansen!

This is my first ever fruit mani and I did it all freehand! I know it isn't GREAT but I tried my best lol
Take it easy one me ok? It took me a long time!
I am going to post some "in the process" pictures and then the end result.

This is one layer of Sally Hansen Yellow Kitty. This is a really pretty color but I did not like the formula. It was very streaky too as I am sure you can see in the photo.
And this is two layers of Yellow Kitty.

This is one layer of Sally Hansen HD in Lite over the Yellow Kitty. I love this polish but I always get bubbles in it on my nails! THAT drives me insane. I don't shake it at all. Just roll it a little bit.

And the final result!

And the gorgeous polishes I used. Plus my special buddy Reuben!
Wet n Wild White Creme, Sally Hansen Crushed, and Sally Hansen Caribbean Coral.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear is far superior to a lot of other drugstore brands. And this specific line is the best by SH.

Chelsea Chelsea Bling Bling!

So late lastnight on one of my facebook groups I was looking at a gorgeous picture of a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop polish and I decided to make my own!
After completing the polish at 1 a.m. I gave my friends in this same FB group a chance to name my franken. Much to my surprise, the lovely lady who originally inspired me with her gorgeous DL dupe was also the lucky lady who gave me the idea for naming this. So even though she has polishes that look like this already she has won a mini bottle of this pretty little franken! Congrats to Rebecca of Rebecca Likes Nails!

So this is it. I introduce to you... Chelsea Chelsea Bling Bling!
And just as an FYI, My name IS Chelsea and I LOVE Chelsea Handler who has a book titled "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang".

Summer Summer Time Mani

I am a part of several online nail polish forums/groups. And we usually have weekly challenges. This week in Face and Friends we have the Summer Mani challenge. I decided to keep mine really simple. My cuticles have been really dry and the skin around them very irritated.

I used these polishes.
From left to right: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue Me Away! Nubar Sky Sparkle, Sally Hansen HD in Lite, and Kleancolor Holo Yellow.

Revlon Grape Fizz!

This is actually the only Revlon scented nail polish I have. But now I need more! The scent is amazing! It lasts so long and really smells GOOD! This polish looks so much prettier in the bottle though. I do like it on my nails but it took applying it 4 times to get it dark enough for my liking. I have a serious soft spot for purples, greens, and blues so I need to find all the scented Revlon polishes in those colors. Anyone have any recommendations?!

Next time I use this I am going to draw some grapes on my nails. I have been wearing this for over 48 hours now and it still smells lovely! Downside is that you can't put a top coat on it without getting rid of the smell which means quick chipping or wear. Luckily I haven't had any chips but I can see a bit of wear on the tips of my nails.

Late Night Franken MADNESS!!!!!!!!!

As you can probably tell by the title of this post I am a bit slap happy tonight!
My husband went out for a bit tonight so  decided to start a new frankening project and it turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I call this:
gLORIous Jewell Marine
(gLORIous is the name we gave a holo top coat made by a friend Lori, Jewell because it is my daughter's middle name, and marine because there are beautiful marine sparkles in it!)

This is a gorgeous Holographic glitter top coat. It has teal and marine sparkles in it. The marine glitter is a lot larger than the teal. I attempted to swatch it on a fake nail and get a good picture but I'm thinking I might have to do a new NOTD tomorrow and take some pictures in the sun to give you the full effect!

These are swatches of my recent frankens.
From left to right: Strawberry Shorbet, gLORIous Jewell Marine, and Mint Chocolate Chip.

Which one is your favorite?
I personally like the mint chocolate chip. But the glitter top coat is TDF. The strawberry shorbet does NOT photograph well. I will do a NOTD with that one too.

My 6 yr olds nail polish stash + Giveaway!

I have been a little reluctant to post new NOTDs since I had to cut all my nails off. Plus I cut the tip of one of my fingers including the nail and have been letting it heal up. More NOTDs will be coming soon. In the meantime I thought I would do some fun stuff like this post!

My daughter's nail polish collection.

Color Club Fashion Addict

Because of a very fun night out I have broken several fingernails. So I am back to stubs for now. I hate it but I will manage. I painted my nails twice lastnight before I decided to stick with this polish. It is one of my favorites. I am thinking about glitzing it up with some Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby. I'll post a picture of that later if I decide to do it!

Sinfully Savage!

So I have to first say, my last Mani was SO hard to get off! It was the Essie Surfer Dude and OPI I Lily Love You. It took me almost an hour to get it off! I don't want to put I Lily Love You back on ever!

But onto the new stuff!

I recently received my FIRST OPI Shatter polish. I went for the Silver one. It looked the neatest IMO.
I also started paying attention to the Sinful Colors line. I have been looking at a lot of swatches and I realized I was totally missing out. These polishes are easy to find (Walgreens) and are super cheap at $1.99! So I went through a little bin and found a color that I immedietaly LOVED. It even matched the shirt I was wearing that day.

Introducing Sinful Colors Savage!
This ended being a matte polish. It does not say it anywhere on the bottle and you can't tell at all by looking at it. But I actually quite like it!

And this is the masterpiece after I added OPI Silver Shatter!

Savina Fairy Dust! The ultimate Holographic Glitter!

Miss Traci from The TraceFace Philes introduced me to an amazing brand called Savina! I bought three polishes from them. So far Fairy Dust is the only one I have tried so far. I put one layer of China Glaze Electra Magenta and then 2 layers of Savina Fairy Dust over it and covered it with a clear top coat. It is GORGEOUS! It covers so amazingly for a glitter polish. I tried my best to get true picture of the gorgeous Holo glitter. This si what I got...

This last photo was purposely blurred so you can see the holo deliciousness!

Nail Polish Storage!

So I designed both racks that my nail polish sits on and my brother in law made them for me. I have another wall rack on the other side of my makeup vanity and it holds my Wonder Woman collection and some other bits and pieces. I am sure I will need more storage for my polishes soon. As you can see I am already running out of room. I would put them in a drawer but I hate not being able to see every color I have. So this is what I do and it works for now.

Below is a Picture of the entire area where I keep my Polish. As you can see I use a black wooden shelf to set my large rack on. I use the shelf to store small drawers and containers with tools, nail wheels, stamps and plates, etc. I will probably end up using that second shelf as more polish storage lol

This is a closer picture of my large polish rack. I have things pretty much split up by brand but it gets mixed up a lot and I move things around a lot. I am SO OCD about nail polish and makeup and am forever changing things and organizing.

And here is a closer picture of my wall rack. I have OPI and China Glaze on this rack. I think eventually I might put some shadow box shelves above this and place my special polishes on it.

Sorry about the picture quality. My Droid usually takes great pictures but I think the way the light was shining into the window made it look fuzzy.

How do YOU store your polish? Provide me with links to pictures and blog posts so I can see!
