What's going on P&P?!

We have been doing a lot of construction here at P&P over the last several weeks. I know a lot of people have noticed many changes and have seen us talking about even more. This post should give you all the details you will need to understand what is going on here.

First, we will be moving to a new website. This blog will still exist but prettynpolish.com will take you to our new website (which we will announce the web address for the new site tomorrow).

On our new website you will find the following products:
Full sized polishes, the new printed bottles (singles, collections, and holiday gift packs)
Mini polishes, these will still come with paper labels (singles, collections, and holiday gift packs)
Triple Whip Hand Creams
Cuticle Balms
Cuticle Oils
Nail Art
Jewelry
And more over the following weeks.

We will also be introducing some new polishes on the new website as well. Look forward to the P&P Halo Top Coat (holographic top coat), Steampunk (a new polish created for a local fashion show), and a few new solid colors that will be available in new sets!

We will be keeping our etsy store open but will only be leaving the polishes we have on sale in our shop (these are polishes with paper labels or polishes that are being discontinued).
We will also be selling some polish making supplies at our etsy shop.

Tomorrow marks a brand new day for Pretty & Polished. We will be announcing the address of the new website as well as releasing a new collection. This collection will be the last to be released at our etsy shop. Once the polishes on etsy are gone you will be able to find them on our new website.

We greatly appreciate all the support and love we have gotten from the people on etsy. Without you we wouldn't be where we are. We hope you will all follow us to this new site and continue to support us.

Cheers to the future!

xoxo

Charity Announcements!

Good morning everyone! I have some really exciting news for you today.
Here at P&P we have been working hard on a couple of Charities. The month of October we sold Breast Cancer Awareness duos with a plan of donating profits to a local Organization called Little Red Door. This particular Cancer Service was the one I went to when I had a cancer scare. The people there were professional and kind, and they got me the tests I needed very quickly. I wanted to do something for them in return. With your help we were able to raise enough money to help them pay for 15 mammograms OR 25 CASES of Nutritional Supplements! That is huge (over $500 huge)! Those Nutritional Supplements are sometimes the only thing cancer patients going through chemo can tolerate. Little Red Door spends thousands of dollars on these supplements every year. We did a great thing this year and hopefully next year we can do it again!
The Breast Cancer Awareness polishes are still on sale in our etsy shop and the profits will still be donated to Little Red Door once all polishes have been sold.

I also recently held an auction for a very special polish I named "Superstorm". Superstorm is a green/pink/purple color shifting polish with a holographic shine. I only had the materials to make less than 20 bottles. So I auctioned 15 of them off in order to raise money for Hurricane Sandy Relief. I am incredibly impressed with some of the bids that were made. I am so thankful to all of you. Your support is phenomenal!
With your help we were able to raise $573! In the scheme of things this isn't that much. But for 15 strangers to come together for this cause and raise this kind of money is absolutely amazing to me. So here you have it, $573 towards the billions it will cost to rebuild what Sandy took away from us. Every little bit helps and everyone that was involved in this effort should be so proud!

The money raised from this auction has been donated to Red Cross Sandy Disaster Relief fund.

Right now we have another Charity cause we are working on. When you purchase a bottle of "It Gets Better" from our online shop, 50% of the profits will be going to the It Gets Better Project.
The It Gets Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone — and it WILL get better.
I created this polish for all of the people I have lost to bullying. I understand not everyone agrees with my views on human rights and that is ok. I made this polish so that I could donate 50% of the profits to an organization that I appreciate.
The It Gets Better pledge:
"Everyone deserves to be respected for who they are. I pledge to spread this message to my friends, family and neighbors. I'll speak up against hate and intolerance whenever I see it, at school and at work. I'll provide hope for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other bullied teens by letting them know that it gets better."

This polish is a mint green crelly (creme/jelly base) packed full of multicolor holo hexes.

Thank you all for your bids and donations!

Good evening everyone! I am so pleased with the turn out for bids on our "Superstorm Auction". We have received almost all of the money from the bidders and we have almost $400! That may not seem like a lot to some people but for 15 individuals to bid this high for a nail polish in order to raise money for complete strangers is an amazing thing in my opinion. I am so proud of all of you.

Once we receive all the money from the bidders I will be making a lump sum donation to Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy Relief.

In case not everyone has been paying attention, the damage from Hurricane Sandy is absolutely shocking. Lives have been lost, Homes have been torn apart, and millions of people are still without electricity, hot water, and warm food. There is also a lack of clean water right now. So PLEASE I urge you and ask that you make a donation to the Red Cross today. They need our help and as Human Beings it is our duty to help when we can.

This auction has been such a success! Hopefully we do not have any natural disasters again anytime soon but if/when we do I vow to do something like this again in an effort to raise money and help.

* Thank you all again for the support. *

Help Raise Money for Hurricane Sandy Relief!

Good afternoon everyone. Today is a very quiet day as the world watches the East Coast of the United States get torn apart by the Superstorm Sandy. I have been paying very close attention to this rare occurrence and it shakes me to my bones thinking about the damage done and yet to be discovered. For all of you East Coasters, you are in my thoughts, I hope you are safe and warm and with your families.

I have 15 polishes that I am calling "Superstorm". They are all the same polish. It is a green polish with a green/purple/pink color shift and in the sunlight you will see that it is also a linear holographic polish. It is very intense and beautiful. Only these 15 polishes will ever be released to the public.
Everyone who places a bid (any amount) will receive a coupon code for 10% off on a one time purchase from our etsy store. All winners with the highest 15 bids will also be receiving other exclusive polishes along with Superstorm.

I will open bids at $10 and you place a one time bid with your highest offer. The 15 people with the highest bids will be the winners of the 15 polishes. Shipping is included with your bid.

This auction is open to the following countries:
USA
Canada
Australia
New Zealand
Singapore
Hong Kong
European Union  (which includes the following places Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom).

Once your bid has been placed it cannot be changed. However, you may place more than one bid if you decide to bid higher.  If you decide against finalizing your purchase your polish will be passed on to the next highest bidder and you will no longer be eligible to receive a winning polish.

I hope we can raise a decent amount of money for this. I appreciate all the support and I am sure our friends on the East Coast appreciate it too.

To place a bid, fill out this form. I will give everyone until Thursday November 1st  at Noon (12 pm EST) to place their bids.

Thank you!
